Architect of Compassion Economics | Exposing Compassion Leakage & Energy Depletion | Author: Compassion Leakage & Energy Depletion.
Helping parents, professionals and communities stop compassion leakage – before it turns today’s children into tomorrow’s scars.
Founder of the Compassion Economics Commons and author of *Compassion Leakage and Energy Depletion*, a pioneering framework that names what so many feel but cannot explain: compassion poverty and compassion bankruptcy in families, services and systems.
Over three decades, I’ve supported families facing complex behaviour and equipped thousands of practitioners across youth justice, probation, social work, foster care, community programmes, education and emergency healthcare. My work has included collaborating with senior leadership teams to embed trauma‑informed, attachment‑based practice and developing the recognised iCoN Trauma‑Informed and Attachment‑Based Approaches programme.
Through the Commons, I now help individuals, parents and carers, faith communities, organisations and systems understand the “Spectrum of the Human Condition” – the dynamic relationship between the Quantum of Compassion Flourishing (QoCF) and the Quantum of Human Suffering (QoHS) – and design practical ways to shift that balance towards flourishing.
The Commons offers keynotes, masterclasses, assessments and digital tools that make invisible leakage visible – from the kitchen table to the board table. This includes the emerging AvoidLeakage App and Compassion Capability Assessments, which translate lived experience into practical action for individuals, teams and whole services.
Whether in one‑to‑one work, family coaching, group programmes, organisational consulting or national conversations, the aim is the same: to give people language, tools and courage to move from performing care to truly living it, so that the children in our homes, schools and services grow up as scholars, not scars.
