George Chawawa has worked in data protection since 2017, a year before UK GDPR was enacted into UK law by the Data Protection Act 2 018. Since then , he has worked for British , French and American Companies at a n ational and international level , covering the UK, Europe, United Emirates and Dub ai. George studied Law at the Universities of London and Aberystwyth before proceeding to the prestigious Inns of Court School of Law in London. He also studied a t the University of East Anglia and recently obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Data Protection Law and Information Governance from t he University of Northumbria . His Data Protection Career includes implementing GDPR Projects , handling challenging and “contested” Subject Access Requests , as well as fielding queries on any Data Protection issues from some 28 Directors for an international company , for exam ple. In addition, George has had vast experience of working with Case Officers at the Information Commissioners Office. George has also assisted Companies facing investigation by Regulatory Bodies on allegations of mishandling individuals’ personal data. He runs Webinars on Data Protection and writes articles for an international newspaper on the subject . George recent ly ran some GDPR workshops during the West Midlands Business Festival.
