“Something special happened here - you helped me get my grandson back” Grandmother of a very withdrawn 15 year old.“I wished I’d have understood my influence sooner” Mum of 14 year old daughter struggling with anxiety. Alison has worked with families for 30+ years, helping them share and manage their emotions, even in extremely stressful situations. Being able to connect meaningfully within a family, and have trust in each other, is vital to children and young people’s emotional wellbeing and subsequently their mental health. Alison has collaborated with many organisations including health providers, charities, and universities. In the UK and around the world Alison has run workshops, given talks and prepared books, leaflets and presentations to help families connect more closely. Alison has now put all her knowledge and experience into developing LOHA. LOHA is a digital guide, helping parents build trust, resilience, empathy and understanding with a young person so they can support their development and emotional wellbeing, which leads to good mental health. This creates a stronger connection between parents and teenagers, helping the young person know they are supported and cared for, resulting in a life-time of emotional wellbeing.
